AVP, Associate Relations Operations The candidate will lead Associate Relations for Nationwide, including associate policies and guidelines, associate relations technical leader and activities, and three associate relations operations teams responsible for associate case management and resolution. Will manage and update Nationwide associate policies and practices and employment management and risk avoidance. Compile, analyze, and report on associate relations data and trends impacting the business. Monitor operational execution and manage processes and continuous improvement. Service standards, customer focus, problem resolution, reporting, systems and technology. Manage effective processes and continuous improvement to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Work with and lead three operations directors that manage case handling and service teams. Provide thought leadership over the technical side of associate relations and performance management practices and processes in support of enterprise business objectives. Manage risk mitigation and overall risk profile. Balance risk avoidance with effective decision making that limits disruption and enables business continuity. Monitor trends and date for macro level issues critical to the organization and provide analysis to other HR COEs and HRBPs in support of the business. Work with and lead the AVP Associate Relations, who leads the technical side of associate relations. Providing strategic consulting, investigative, and training HR and the business on associate relations issues. Providing leadership and consultation for critical/complex HR and operations issues such as union organizing, workplace violence, ethics and executive investigations, regulatory compliance, and sensitive associate relations issues. Identifying strategically-aligned HR policy solutions, and researches, creates, revises and communicates HR policy and other administrative guidelines for the corporation. Work closely with OCLO employment practices leaders. Monitor regulatory and legislative developments that impact Nationwide s employment policies and practices and develop strategic responses to any pertinent impacts. Ensuring NW compliance with federal, state and Nationwide policy regarding issues related to Affirmative Action and adverse impact avoidance, EEOC activites, employment, training, termination and other associate relations issues. Directing the development and negotiation of executive and non-executive releases, retention agreements and NW s reduction-in-force program. Lead Incident Management Team, Bonding Committee and participate on the Crisis Management Team, Health and Safety Committee, Fleet Steering Committee and The Disability Assessment Committee. Ensuring NW compliance with federal, state and Nationwide policy regarding issues related to Affirmative Action, EEO, employment, training, termination and other associate relations issues. Directing the development and negotiation of executive and non-executive releases, retention agreements and NW s reduction-in-force program. Serving as a leader of Incident Management Team, Bonding Committee and a member of the Crisis Management Team, Health and Safety Committee, Fleet Steering Committee and The Disability Assessment Committee. Create and maintain a team environment that reinforces getting the job done, commitment to quality, strong performance management and associate development. Effectively manage engagement in balance with productivity and service delivery. Hire and develop succession talent. Interact effectively with peers and HRET.

The candidate should have an Undergraduate study in Business Administration or similar field, or equivalent. An MBA or J.D. degree preferred. An Insurance Designation like CPCU, FLMI, preferred. HR designation, SPHR are pluses. Should have 10+ years of progressively responsible human resource, associate relations leadership, or related leadership roles. Must have experience interacting with top of the house HR and Business Leaders.
