One of the founders of the biotechnology industry seeks Corporate Counsel having 3-7 years of experience in law firm or in-house setting. The candidate will work in the Development Law Group. Will provide comprehensive legal support for product-specific development programs, and also serve as lead points of contact for various functions within development organization. Interface with a number of different clients throughout the development organization, including senior management when appropriate. Advise internal clients on healthcare fraud and abuse laws and corresponding company policies, as well as other laws and regulations that affect the conduct of clinical trials. Negotiate complex agreements with cooperative groups and government entities, and provide support to the internal contracting groups that negotiate routine vendor, consultant, and clinical trial site agreements. The candidate should either be a member of the California Bar or be eligible for California registered in-house counsel status. Should have significant experience in at least two of the following substantive areas: healthcare fraud and abuse laws; FDA regulation of clinical trials; HIPAA and other privacy laws; and contract negotiation and drafting. Experience with ex-US clinical trial matters or post-marketing development activities is a plus.
