Litigation Counsel - Legal Support Duties: report directly to STAs Senior Director of Litigation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Manage litigation by or against STA, as well as elevated consumer disputes, regulatory hearings and internal investigations. Support STA attorneys and executives in developing legal strategies and providing legal advice. Support STA business as trusted advisor with sound judgment and effective communication regarding the business impact of pending or threatened litigation and related matters. Support STA executives and employees as a resource at depositions and trials. Supervise outside counsel and professional staff. Responsibilities will include coordination of discovery, managing dispute resolution and litigation strategy, and attendance at corporate depositions, hearings, and trials.

Qualifications: A J.D. Degree from an ABA accredited school and admission to at least one state bar in good standing; Texas admission or eligibility to waive a plus Have 6+ years of experience, with 3+ years law firm experience Prior in-house experience a plus Substantial experience drafting, editing and supervising pleadings at all stages of litigation required Substantial pre-trial experience, including coordinating and responding to discovery requests, and managing eDiscovery in complex matters required Substantial experience preparing witnesses for interviews, depositions and trials required Experience managing or actively participating on trial teams preferred Experience with the following substantive areas of law strongly preferred: Consumer class actions Product liability Employment administrative claims and actions Experience with the following substantive areas of law a plus: Patent and intellectual property infringement claims Government enforcement and regulatory investigations Antitrust Insurance coverage Strong research, writing and analytical skills; must be able to read, interpret, present and explain legal defense strategies and documents to executives and staff Excellent written and oral communications skills Able to lead projects and initiatives with little supervision or direction Able to successfully collaborate with other legal and business colleagues in a complex, geographically dispersed organization Desire and ability to work as part of a team Experience with technology or telecommunications industries beneficial but not required Necessary Skills/Attributes for this position the following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level: Demonstrated ability to interact at the most senior levels within the STA and customer organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others in adversarial environments, including defense attorneys, customer leadership, executives, directors & managers, staff, and employees with opposing views and interests to accept and approve negotiations, plans, proposals, and recommendations. The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous legal actions, business developments, and performance objectives. Ability to make professional legal and business presentations in writing, through emails and reports, or orally, including complex legal, business, and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management, and operational experience, including those with limited or no experience with legal matters. Ability to direct outside counsel to achieve strategic objectives and goals and to achieve results within established time frames and requirements.
