Director, Real Estate and Special Counsel The candidate will negotiate, draft and structure lease and occupancy agreements, as well as ancillary documents such as SNDAs, estoppel certificates and access agreements, across a large domestic and international portfolio. Confer with stakeholders, including construction and design, building operations, and finance to ensure each departments needs are met to secure the best possible firm's member experience. Manage outside counsel and leverage them for drafting and in-person or teleconference negotiations as needed. Contribute to investment committee presentations (and other meetings) and have up-to-date knowledge of major projects, deals and goals. Create and facilitate processes so we can work towards the smoothest and fastest possible transactions. Escalate cross-departmental or business issues to the real estate regional head and global head of transactions. JD degree required. Should be member of State Bar required (CA or NY preferred). Must have either 5+ years of relevant work experience in commercial real estate law at a top-tier firm or in-house legal department, or 3 or more years of significant leasing experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department. Should have strong desire to contribute to a cross-functional team which is responsible with handling a mix of business and legal objectives. Must have excellent drafting and negotiation capabilities in leases and alternative deal structures. Should have strong understanding of both the commercial real estate industry and the interplay between legal and business risk.

Should have JD degree or foreign equivalent with strong academic credentials. Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction is essential. Should have 8-10 years of combined major law firm and in-house practice with at least 5 years of substantive privacy background and experience. Strong understanding of IT, web technologies (especially those used in the collection, storage and analysis of data), mobile and connected devices is essential. Experience providing practical advice to clients on data use and privacy issues is essential. Should have excellent written, oral and presentation skills. Privacy program management experience is essential. Should have experience in the payments industry. One or more CIPP certification(s) is essential. Should have experience in drafting privacy policies and notices; and Excellent computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint.

Monitor legislative developments to ensure continued compliance with national, state, and local employment labor laws and regulations. Work with the compliance team to manage the Companys Ethics and Compliance hotline. Continuously develop understanding of legal risks and advise business stakeholders accurately of legal and other risks associated with proposed activities. Must have JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in at least one US state is required. Should preferably have 10+ years combined full-time experience in labor and employment law with a top-tier law firm and in-house environment. Must have excellent knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.). Should have prior experience with Employment based litigation and internal investigations.

Qualifications: JD Degree and admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. 1+ years relevant experience, whether as an attorney or in a non-attorney role in the financial services industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong social and customer service skills; an ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively. Working knowledge (or an interest in developing knowledge) of mortgage operations, products and services, and associated regulatory risks and related controls. Working knowledge (or an interest in developing knowledge) of consumer financial laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, and others. Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing, and collaborative environment.
