A Fortune 500 Company seeks Patent Counsel with 10+ years of experience as a patent attorney. The candidate will work in the Patent Development group of the company's Legal Department. Will assign patent preparation and prosecution matters to a group of outside counsel, and supervising their work product to assure it meets company's standards of quality, timeliness and cost. Become the expert in the Legal Department for a specific patent portfolio, and providing assistance to others in the Legal Department for related licensing, litigation, and dispute matters. Train less experienced members of the Legal Department. Encourage the submission of forward looking, gap-filling invention disclosures. Participate in company's invention disclosure review process to help assure that company's best inventions are identified and patented. Prepare and prosecute strategic, high quality patents protecting company's products and services. The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited university and admission to a State Bar. Should have a B.S. degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering), or Computer Science. Admission to the USPTO is required. Must have experience in a large corporate environment, as an attorney and/or engineer.
