Managing Counsel Bankruptcy/financial Risk

Coral Springs FL Managing Counsel - Bankruptcy/Financial Risk The candidate will be providing legal counsel, research and analysis on bankruptcy matters (both pre and post-petition). Interface with credit and risk departments, clients, and opposing counsel. Participate in workouts and restructuring. Drafting vital agreements and documents. Providing timely advice and support to senior business and sales executives as well as legal, regulatory, credit and compliance staff. Identifying potential risks, strategies and solutions, manages or escalates the risk evaluation as necessary. Should have 8+ years of creditor/debtor side bankruptcy. JD from accredited law school. Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice, in appropriate jurisdiction. In good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record. Experience in corporate or law firm environment with pre-petition and post-petition bankruptcy. Proficient in all chapters of bankruptcy. Chapter 7, 11 and 13 specifically. Experience in restructuring due to bankruptcy. Knowledge of merchant acquiring business and legal experience in financial services sector would be a plus. The candidate will work in the practice area of Bankruptcy. Will deliver core content (i.e. legal practical guidance materials) for the module legal practitioners based on customer need. Develop new content and maintain existing content to a high standard technically and editorially. Assist with customer queries. Contribute ideas for new content and tools. Adhere to and contribute towards a defined practice area approach across company and across all formats. Ensure that all personal milestones for product delivery are met. Adhere to appropriate systems for tracking progress. Meet with customers as appropriate to receive feedback and to keep up to date with their needs. Contribute towards delivery of a market facing product offering and the development of the content offering. Will deliver all tax consulting services to the client and bringing in specialists when necessary. Primary responsibilities include: overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries; participation in engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates; research and analysis of a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques; and tax-planning responsibilities for our corporate and individual clients. Supervise assignments by the professional accountants serving as Tax Consultants, Tax Senior Consultants and Tax Managers. Will have responsibility for the development and motivation of engagement staff by providing them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field. CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification required.
