Utah - Tax Manager - Human Capital - Global Mobility

Salt Lake City UT Tax Manager - Human Capital - Global Mobility
The candidate will utilize cutting-edge technology and work with team-oriented colleagues. Will establish/maintain long-term collaborative relationships with clients and internal colleagues. Coordinate and deliver accurate, quality US tax returns for assignees and coordinate worldwide foreign tax filings, as appropriate. Coordinate the delivery of various Global Mobility and other Tax services offered by the firm in a proactive manner that meets/exceeds client expectations. Review international assignment-related calculations such as tax cost projections, tax equalization calculations and hypothetical tax calculations. Conduct/review research on various topics such as technical or treaty interpretation/application, regulatory issues, and payroll matters. Prepare/review the related communications for the client. Develop the client's understanding of US and foreign tax, compensation and payroll issues and explain implications of recent law changes. Develop, supervise and manage the client team's technical skills, client service skills, and engagement management skills. Perform engagement management activities including billing, scheduling, performance evaluations, mentoring, managing client expectations, and identifying additional client needs/company opportunities. Assist Partners and Senior Managers by drafting responses, participating in the proposal process, and identifying new business opportunities.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree and 4 years of related work experience. A degree in a related field is essential. A CPA, EA, or J.D. or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization is essential. Must have 3+ years of tax experience. Should have proficient knowledge of tax laws with specialized knowledge in at least one technical area. Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems is essential. Should possess and continually increase understanding of complex expatriate tax issues. Legal 4 - 6 Full-time 2013-03-13

Utah - Tax Manager

The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Master of Science in Taxation preferred. Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar required. Must have 5+ years of experience. Should have thorough knowledge of the tax issues facing multinational US companies or publicly traded entities, especially in the areas of tax compliance and consulting services tailored to organizations with domestic operations with the goal of tax minimization. Comprehensive technical skills in FAS 109 and FIN 48 required. Should preferably have proficient technical skills working with tax tools and resources including tax provision preparation software such as Tax Stream, Vertex, Corptax, RIA, or other similar platforms. Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Share ideas with others. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex areas.

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree and 1-2 years of related work experience.
