California - SALT Manager

The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Master of Science in Taxation, J.D. with Accounting/Tax, or Master of Law degree in Taxation preferred. Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar required. Must have 5+ years of experience. Should have thorough knowledge of complex, high-value, income, property, and sales and use tax issues, consulting clients on a variety of state and local tax issues ranging from tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, audit management, and compliance work for companies with presence in multiple taxing jurisdictions. Comprehensive technical skills in all state and local tax matters, including tax planning, consulting, compliance, restructuring, controversy and audit defense preferred. California - Coordinator - Tax Audit and Planning Senior

Torrance CA Coordinator - Tax Audit and Planning Senior
The candidate will be the primary liaison between company and the IRS Exam Team. Will be responsible for co-developing the federal tax audit plan with the IRS; developing audit strategy; analyzing audit issues and proposed adjustments and calculating the impact for tax positions (tax, interest and penalties). Also responsible for managing the IDR process, including preparing and coordinating company responses to the IRS and weekly IDR update meetings with the IRS and maintaining data between company and the IRS, and researching legal issues. Responsible for communicating and interfacing with all company associates and affiliates regarding federal income tax audits and the preparation of audit responses, and will assist the affiliates in meeting critical audit deadlines with well-considered and accurate audit responses. Responsible for coordinating special projects relating to audits and planning for future federal income tax minimization among company units and outside specialists, and implementation/maintenance of document retention policies. Act as the primary contact with IRS Exam Team, maintaining detailed, well-organized audit records. Analyze information, identify and discuss potential issues with management and conducts research. Work on special projects relating to audits and tax planning.
The candidate should have a B.A./B.S. degree in Accounting or similar. A Master's in Taxation or LL.M. in Taxation is a plus. CPA license (or in final stages) or J.D. degree required. Must have 10 years of experience in a CPA firm or mid to large multi-state corporation with progressive experience preparing/reviewing federal returns and significant experience with IRS coordination of taxpayer audits. Should have solid experience in coordination an IRS large/coordinated taxpayer audits over the complete lifecycle of a multi-year federal income tax audit (from pre-audit planning through final resolution in Appeals and otherwise beyond). Must be proficient in all aspects of the tax audit process and be knowledgeable about IRS procedures. Should have solid skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be able to use Access databases. San Francisco CA Tax Manager The candidate's responsibilities will include a full array of tax services in the areas of individual, partnership, corporate, trusts, estates and not-for-profit organizations and consulting to high net worth entrepreneurs, businesses and family groups. Will manage day-to-day client relationships and maintain positive client satisfaction. Seeks opportunities to be creative and innovative in serving clients. Work closely with engagement partner and staff to meet client expectations. Manage the assignment budgets and profitability in area of responsibility. Keep current on applicable professional standards. Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm. Participate in civic, business, community, and philanthropic activities. Understand company's full services and industry capabilities. Role model and mentor to new and existing staff. Assist in firm administrative functions as assigned by the partners. Participate in recruitment, business planning and retention initiatives. The candidate should have Bachelors in Accounting or Masters Degree in Accounting or Tax. CPA and/or J.D./LL.M. in Taxation is preferred. Must have 6-10 years of recent public accounting experience. Strong technical knowledge and a developing area of expertise is required.
