Corporate Counsel, PBM Services Duties: Prepares and renders legal opinions to Diplomat s General Counsel. Provides legal insight and advice as necessary to multiple departments throughout the Company related to PBM activities. Works closely with the business to negotiate and draft PBM client agreements with health plans, employer groups, TPAs and others, as well as network pharmacy agreements. Provides assistance in drafting legal documents, contracts, and other legal papers upon request. Keeps abreast of pertinent legislation, state and federal regulations and statutes impacting PBM services. Assists Assistant General Counsel and General Counsel as needed. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements: JD Degree; 3-4 years experience as an attorney within a law firm or corporate environment in the PBM industry. Experience with contract drafting, legal issues impacting the PBM industry, and general health care law. Successful completion of State Board Exam. License to practice law in the State of Michigan or other jurisdiction required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Knowledge of Microsoft products and project management software. Time management skills. Oral and written communication skills. Professionalism. Knowledge of legal principles and practices including contract, employment, health care, real estate, administrative and business law. Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations and court decisions relating to health care, real estate and employment law. Ability to interpret applicable federal and state laws and office policies and procedures. Ability to research and organize materials in a manageable form. Ability to identify and make recommendations on policies and procedures. Exceptional reading, writing and verbalizing skills. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time effectively and interact with all levels of staff including senior management. Ability to be detail oriented. Ability to multi task. Ability to work well with various personalities and work as team. Ability to be dependable, act with discretion and maintain levels of strict confidentiality.
