Corporate Counsel - Export/Import The candidate will be responsible for providing broad-based legal counsel and support to the Company with respect to export/import legal issues. Will be ensuring that effective legal counsel is provided in the areas of U.S. and non-U.S. technology release, export and import (in particular, ITAR, EAR, Customs and OFAC) and trade sanctions and embargoes; ensuring that objectives are achieved in these areas in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations, with risks understood and appropriately mitigated. Providing a wide range of support for the Corporate Office and one or more of the Company s operating Sectors, including non-U.S. subsidiaries and affiliates. Developing and maintaining effective interface with international trade compliance personnel throughout the enterprise,relevant government agencies and industries. Leading the Company s interface with USG export/import compliance agencies. Managing outside counsel and project-specific multifunctional teams from across the enterprise. A Juris Doctorate and active state Bar is membership. Must have 10+ years directly related, broad and in-depth experience in the ITAR and EAR in a law firm or as in-house counsel. Exceptionally qualified candidates with 7+ years of specialized experience is considered. Extensive experience flexibly managing legal issues for operations and activities in multiple international jurisdictions is essential.Superior oral and written communication skills is essential. An active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level or higher is preferred. Solid experience with U.S. Customs regulations and case law is preferred. Experience handling matters involving trade embargoes and sanctions is desired. Experience in the defense and/or intelligence communities in private practice, in-house or government is preferred.
