Corporate Counsel I

Corporate Counsel I The candidate will be responsible for handling various legal matters and assisting on projects as assigned by other in-house counsel. Will work on areas of practice may include customer relations, general contracting, intellectual property, transportation, labor and employment, real estate, and other corporate matters. Hire and manage outside counsel on various litigation, including to general liability, product liability, ADA, and patent infringement. Formulate strategy and resolution of cases and general risk management. Participate in litigation and dispute related issues not requiring assistance of outside counsel. Review motions, briefs, and other pleadings. Assist with discovery, including gathering information and documentation, conducting privilege reviews, creating privilege logs, and assisting in document reviews. Participate in and attend mediations, hearings, and trials, as needed. Draft and manage legal holds. Respond and object to subpoenas. Participate in and respond to regulatory and employee investigations (e.g. OSHA). Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and related documents as needed. Provide counsel on special projects as needed. Must have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Texas is essential. Must have 3+ years of legal experience, including litigation experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Excellent writing, communication, and negotiation skill is essential.
