Corporate Counsel- Consumer Protection Responsibilities: Negotiate, draft and review high volume of contracts including service, marketing/PR, media, influencer, licensing, consulting and other business agreements. Advise on promotional, marketing and advertising matters, including review of material for compliance with all applicable laws and requirements. Provide advice and counsel regarding copyright, trademark, right of publicity and domain name issues. Support global data privacy needs of the Company, working closely with IT, Marketing, Retail, Legal and Service Excellence Center teams. Partner with business units to integrate privacy considerations into business planning. Help manage commercial litigation and claims matters, including consumer protection and product safety matters. Conduct legal research, analysis and benchmarking as needed. Help develop and implement new processes, policies and training as needed, based on legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices. Use sound judgment in balancing legal risk against business needs and goals. Provide strategic, creative and effective legal and business advice. Work collaboratively with paralegals, Legal team and business clients. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: JD Degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school. Admitted and member in good standing with the New York Bar (or ability to waive in to become a member). 6+ years relevant legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house. Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills; high attention to detail. Excellent judgment and the highest level of personal integrity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to balance multiple projects while remaining highly organized. Deadline driven and able to work effectively under pressure. Creative problem solver who is able to deliver clear, strategic advice to clients in a timely manner. Task-oriented with excellent sense of prioritization. Self-starter who is resourceful and able to work effectively both independently, as well as with teams. Excellent interpersonal skills; team player who is flexible and adaptable. Proficient with technology including with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
