Corporate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for Product Development and Production Compliance: Responsible for the companys compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations relating to development and production of alcoholic beverages, including but not limited to legal guidance, liaising with government officials, monitoring compliance and changes in laws, oversight and management of governmental approvals and licenses, risk analysis and managing outside counsel. Trade Practice Compliance: Manage and oversee trade practice compliance with industry laws, regulations, and guidelines, including but not limited to providing legal guidance, overseeing the review and approval of marketing materials, sweepstakes, coupons, and marketing programs, and reviewing press releases. Develop, organize, and conduct trainings on legal and regulatory compliance, including aspects of alcoholic beverage production, marketing/branding, sales, trade practices, and other aspects of law affecting the company and its employees. Prepares and examines numerous contract and other legal documents, with an emphasis in areas of sponsorship and joint promotional agreements. Provides general legal advice to company employees and senior management on contractual risk assessment and mitigation. Responsible for providing general legal support. Examples include but are not limited to reviewing and establishing company policies, performing legal trainings, legal research, special project support, and litigation support. Provide backup support in areas such as capital equipment and ingredient procurement, employment, real estate, and intellectual property. The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Should have 5+ years experience of relevant regulatory affairs experience and commercial law experience. Should have ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task, multi-project environment with various internal business partners under time constraints and deadlines. Must have ability to work in situations and on assignments in areas of the law or business that may be unfamiliar. Should have strong attention to detail, legal research skills, computer skills, organizational skills, and communication skills (written and verbal). Should preferably have membership in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar; Notary Public.
