Corporate Counsel Duties: Manage cutting-edge international legal work in support of our rapidly expanding International Selling businesses. Will support the International Seller Services and International Seller Growth business teams in developing innovative ways to attract and better serve sellers and to move their selection across global websites and beyond. Will be an integral part of the business teams you support, giving input on business and strategy in addition to providing day-to-day legal counsel on a broad range of international commercial and regulatory matters governed by rapidly evolving bodies of law. Will be leading the legal work for the launch of new programs and seller-facing tools for rapidly growing business teams. In collaboration with lawyers around the world, will support a diverse range of global initiatives, from commercial transactions with sellers and carriers to building compliance programs for the offer and sale of goods across borders. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
QUALIFICATIONS: JD Degree or international equivalent. Membership in good standing in at least one state or foreign Bar . 5+ years as a practicing attorney, with 2+ of those years at a major multinational law firm or corporation, and preferably with solid experience in international commercial transactions, e-commerce, or trade compliance. Strong analytical skills and experience working across multiple countries. Hands-on project management experience, including excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, while working independently and often in ambiguous environments. Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense, creativity, curiosity, and a good sense of humor. Strong written and oral communication skills. Flexible work schedule to accommodate international time zones. Some domestic and international travel will be required. PREFERRED: Proficiency in more than one language is a plus. Some trade or product compliance experience is a plus.
