Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment Law Duties: Draft, update and revise policies and handbooks. Audit current HR processes and make recommendations for improvements and best practices. Provide advice to Legal and HR teams on a variety of issues including wage/hour, compensation, classification, leaves of absence, employee benefits, disability and accommodations-related issues, hiring and background checks, performance management, involuntary terminations, reductions in force, discrimination/harassment, pay equity issues. Develop and deliver training on a wide variety of employment and compliance related subjects. Analyze noncompete issues and provide counseling to management and HR. Advise on use of contingent workers. Draft Offer Letters, Employment Contracts, Release Agreements and other employment related documents. Advise on executive compensation and equity related issues. Oversee and conduct investigations. Collaborate with a broad range of people and departments throughout Seagate to develop and maintain strong working relationships between Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Security, Internal Audit, and other operational groups, utilizing a team based approach. Engage with outside counsel to effectively resolve threatened or outstanding employment litigation matters and to establish best practices for prevention of matters. Establish a rapport and working relationship with business managers in order to encourage and continue the proactive use of in-house legal counsel. Juggle and successfully prioritize competing and voluminous work streams simultaneously. Understand and be able to translate into plain English the legal ramifications of varied legal issues (including regulatory requirements) and clearly and succinctly articulate the risks. Proactively communicate and manage expectations with multiple stakeholders. Prepare and provide presentations to business partners as needed. Perform special assignments or projects as needed.

Qualifications: License and bar admission in MN. International Employment Law experience preferred. Subject matter expert in California, Colorado and/or Minnesota employment laws. Working both in-house and at a law firm with a specialization in employment law. Working in a fast-paced, complex, high technology environment and ability to quickly adapt to changing business priorities. Organizational and analytical skills. Working both collaboratively and independently. Managing multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. Positively and successfully managing relationships with a high energy, diverse group of stakeholders across different lines of business. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed to accommodate clients in other geographies.
