Associate Director, Corporate Counsel

Associate Director, Corporate Counsel The candidate will serve as the primary legal contact across the organization for certain company partnerships. Will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Corporate and will work closely with colleagues in the legal department and across multiple internal functional groups, as well as with outside counsel. Responsibilities: Leadership role in, and partner closely with corporate development team on, execution of business development transactions, such as collaboration, out-licensing, in-licensing, acquisition and other potential transactions. Primary legal contact across the organization for certain company partnerships. Primary legal contact for, and partner closely with, supply and global operations teams. Active role in other corporate-related legal matters, including corporate governance and securities matters, employment and real estate. Abilities: Strong technical/analytical skills, combined with a practical, business-oriented and strategic approach to identifying and solving business and legal problems. Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation and priority-setting in order to complete assignments on-time and on-budget. Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company. Proactively seek out and recommend process improvements. Requirements: 4-7 years of large law firm (or large law firm plus in-house) corporate experience. Legal experience focused on transactions, including negotiating collaboration, in-licensing, out-licensing and acquisition agreements. Experience in drafting and negotiating supply agreements. J.D. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. Preferences: A combination of law firm and in-house experience in the life sciences industry. Experience with corporate governance, securities matters and other corporate-related legal matters typical for a public company.
