Corporate Counsel and Compliance Officer Responsibilities: Evaluate corporate risk and determine best approaches and solutions to mitigate such risk. Perform research on the legal aspects of key business issues. Perform review of contracts. Utilize and maintain the integrity of the contract and matter management system. Assist in corporate governance activities and management of the terms of entity agreements for ARS and STARS and entities managed by ARS and STARS in accordance with the goals established by the relevant management, committees and boards.
Requirements: JD Degree from an ABA- accredited law school. Active license to practice law in at least one state is required, licensure in MI is preferred. 5+ years experience working in the field of health care compliance, preferably within a hospital system. Knowledge of SOC 2 compliance is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to conduct presentations to large and diverse audiences. Must effectively communicate, orally and in writing, complex information to audiences of varying levels of education, skill, and responsibility within the organization. Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time, as well as the ability to stay focused on key business and operational deliverables. Must possess a high level of organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with ability to tactfully communicate in sensitive situations.
