Corporate Counsel (Healthcare Regulatory) Duties: Serve as an internal expert on all relevant federal and state healthcare regulations that impact a risk-bearing, multi-state physician group business, including accountability for ensuring adherence to all such rules. Drive design of strategic and operational initiatives to satisfy regulatory concerns and comply with related requirements. Serve as a critical thought partner with the leadership team by translating complex legal topics into relevant, insightful explanations that inform strategic and operational decisions. Represent externally with health plans and federal and state regulatory bodies. Work closely with our Director of Compliance on the further development of Compliance, Audit, and Risk Programs and provide guidance and oversight for all compliance-related activities across the organization. Establish excellent rapport and working relationships with business managers in order to encourage and continue the proactive use of in-house legal counsel relating to healthcare regulatory and compliance needs.
Requirements: JD degree (required) and are barred in NY or eligible to be barred in NY. 5+ years of work experience. Radical candor and comfortability working within an often ambiguous, high growth environment. Exceptional management and communication skills that are conducive to an environment where issues are identified and resolved. Mission driven to serve in an organization dedicated to bringing novel care delivery models to underserved populations. Nice to Have: In-house experience.
