Senior Corporate Counsel Duties: Provides legal support to Elavon, the Bank s global merchant acquiring business. Supports the Elavon North America business development team and report to the Elavon senior legal team. Supports the team during the acquisition of enterprise customers in the negotiation and drafting of agreements. Supports the team during the acquisition of partners (including but not limited to independent software vendors; Community Banks; and Associations) in the negotiation and drafting of agreements. Supports the creation, use, and review of various eCommerce platforms. Supports the submission of RFPs in both the government and enterprise customer arena. Drafts, updates and maintains contracts used by the various business development teams. Provides legal counsel to Elavon s Business Development team during the negotiation process and providing information to the team to frame the analysis of business decisions. Drafts and negotiates complex medium to the large customer and partner agreements. Drafts, updates and maintains contract templates. Advises on compliance with legal requirements. Provides legal advice for new technology products/services related to use with Elavon partners. Liaises with outside counsel as directed by the senior legal team.
Basic Qualifications: J.D. Bar admittance in the U.S. state where a candidate is located. 5-10 years of experience practicing law in an in-house legal department or at a law firm advising business clients in a full-time attorney position. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in negotiating ad drafting agreements with customers and partners. Experience with payment services and financial services regulations. Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate complex legal concepts in layman terms with both internal clients and external customers. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Well-developed leadership abilities and time management skills. Client management, diplomacy, and people skills.
