Corporate Counsel (Partnerships and Governance) The candidate will provide business-focused legal advice across the organization on commercial legal matters and important business initiatives, such as content acquisition partnerships. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of strategic agreements and commercial contracts that support and enable our business operations under tight deadlines. Support our corporate governance activities, including managing our international corporate governance, international registration, and compliance processes. Serve as lead counsel for select overseas hubs. Drive continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes, with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability. Collaborate with other legal team members to share ideas, teach and learn from each other, and improve work.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school; admitted to and member in good standing of a State Bar, preferably New York or California. Should have 4-6 years of relevant experience at a top law firm, with some previous in-house experience strongly preferred. Experience with intellectual property licensing is strongly preferred. Should have the ability to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, think critically and exercise judgment, a strong sense of accountability, integrity, and willingness to take ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolve issues proactively, ability to learn quickly and take on challenging new projects with enthusiasm, excellent commercial negotiation and drafting skills, fluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance for business teams. Should be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
