Corporate Counsel, Americas Duties: Provide proactive employment legal support and counsel as well as leadership on employment issues. Support HR teams with employment separation reviews, RIF s, wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, and diversity matters. Providing legal support, to the extent required, on commercial contracting taking place in the Region, including customer and supplier contracts and terms. Review and revise employment-related form letters. Advising on legal disputes and litigation in the Region. Conduct legal research and draft internal memorandums in all areas of the law including commercial contract, product liability/motor vehicle safety, real property, and employment matters. Support the businesses compliance programs, including the preparation of employment training materials and review of policies and procedures. Undertaking any necessary compliance investigations in the Region. Support the legal team as required in relation to employment, corporate and commercial issues, including assisting in the implementation of human resources procedures and processes, contracting procedures and processes, risk management programs, and assessing reduction of legal risk. Support litigation management, including legal research and internal document and information collection and review. Interacting with and instructing and managing external law firms where appropriate and approved by the Regional General Counsel. Building a positive rapport with relevant stakeholders by way of regular calls or meetings and demonstrating of added value to internal clients. Ensuring that the General Counsel, Americas is kept up to date on all material legal issues affecting businesses and joint ventures in the Region.

Qualifications: JD Degree required. Relevant experience gained in a major law firm or other corporate legal department. Excellent negotiating skills with the ability to identify the material value and risk issues and to resolve them effectively in line with the business case; Ability to provide clear and practical guidance offering innovative ideas and solutions and combining strategic acumen with attention to detail. Ability to communicate at all levels across a multi-national organization. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and to establish oneself as a key member of the legal, purchasing and commercial teams. Self-starter with a flexible but robust approach focused on execution and delivery. Ability to work and travel independently. Must be fluent in English. End Date: 30 Sep 2021
