Senior Corporate Counsel

Senior Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Provide advice and counsel on legal issues impacting the company's Materials Technologies business segment (including customers). Collaborate with necessary business leaders in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. Negotiate and resolve commercial disputes. Lead complex commercial transactions, including supporting M&A deals. Advise product/business teams through the development life cycle on matters relating to compliance, IP and consumer protection issues. Assist with a wide range of work and projects, as needed, including marketing and privacy/compliance support for the business unit. Provide guidance and support to other legal staff and business partners. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and legal department members, as well as external constituents. Commit to promoting the development of one's own legal and business skills, and maintaining an inclusive working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a licensed attorney with 10+ years of experience handling commercial contracts and other commercial legal matters. In-house experience is preferred. Must be able to work autonomously in area of responsibility except on the most significant initiatives/issues; Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business clients in a collaborative environment to understand and achieve stated business objectives. Must communicate effectively with all internal constituents from employees to senior management, as well as external organizations including potentially government enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, trade associations and outside counsel. Should be professional and have effective written and oral communication skills. Should have demonstrated experience following through to ensure the message is received and heard; ability to think in business scenarios, propose creative alternative solutions and articulate associated risks; demonstrated ability to quickly learn new areas and business considerations; able to take personal initiative to lead and task teams to deliver desired results. Should have strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to compile information from multiple sources. Must be able to handle company confidential information and data requiring the highest degree of attention to preserve confidentiality. Should be a self-starter with a sense of urgency, ability to multi-task, ability to handle unanticipated situations effectively and work well under pressure with tight deadlines. Must present a professional image.
