Corporate Counsel The candidate will understand business development lifecycle, legal involvement at various stages and ongoing agreement negotiation, Familiarize yourself with key regulatory and compliance frameworks, Get to know company working style, goals, mission and values, Connect with team members and key cross functional stakeholders, Dive deep into Nova's legal agreements and organizational structure, Begin to lead legal negotiations with customers hand in hand with our business development team, Lead review and negotiation of supplier and vendor agreements, Structure, draft, review and negotiate license agreements, letters of intent, term sheets or other contractual documents to support complex commercial initiatives, Legal review and comment on marketing and other promotional materials, Review, edit and negotiate documents like NDAs and vendor information forms, Get to know the credit reporting and analysis industry - including bureaus, financial institutions, credit providers and other fintechs, Analyze current contracts and advise business on key issues, Work with key stakeholders on ongoing company organizational management projects, Independently lead legal negotiations with large financial institution partners, Become the go to resource for ad hoc legal questions, as well as become a thought partner for new ideas related to our go to market strategies, Help guide legal aspects of international expansion strategies, Primary resource for understanding current contractual obligations, interpreting contract questions and developing processes so that there is appropriate visibility into this across the organization; Analyze our legal processes, identify issues and help the organization become more efficient and conduct applicable trainings, Continue to keep up on the industry and revise and update agreements where necessary, Work on cross-functional company initiatives and other special projects, 4+ years of relevant legal experience in commercial contracting and corporate law; in-house experience, especially at a fintech or high-growth company, preferred, Proven experience negotiating complex commercial and transactional agreements especially with large financial institutions or other regulated enterprises, Exposure to a broad range of transactional agreements and structures, Experience with contracts for technology solutions, Admitted to CA or NY bar, or if admitted in another state, eligible to register as in-house counsel, Exposure to consumer financial products and key regulatory concerns.
