Corporate Counsel Duties: Be the solution. Keep clients happy. Provide intellectual value. Consistency. Be sticky. Help your fellow GDT-ers. Teach. Mentor. Lend a hand. Provide counsel and legal assistance throughout the company in matters primarily regarding (1) labor and employment regulatory compliance best practices, (2) litigation and arbitration, and (3) regulatory compliance. Responsible for proactively delivering solutions and business oriented legal advice, support, counsel, representation and services to one or more key functional areas of under the general oversight and supervision of General Counsel. Advise and counsel business managers on a wide-range of legal and process issues associated with our information technology function, including regulatory compliance (particularly privacy issues in transactions), development of and compliance with internal control processes, and management of business disputes that have not ripened into litigation. Prepare and deliver training programs designed to enhance business results and manage risk. Manage litigation and dispute related issues not requiring assistance of outside counsel; draft various motions, briefs, and other pleadings; assist with discovery, including gathering information and documentation, conducting privilege reviews, creating privilege logs, and assisting in document reviews; draft and manage legal holds, demands for indemnification, and other demand letters. Advise human resources and leadership on a full range of employment and labor law issues, including hiring, leaves and accommodations, discipline, terminations, employment contracts, restrictive covenants, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, etc. Provides timely and practical analysis and counsel on legal matters and policy issues related to employment law that impact current and planned business activities. Handles assigned subject areas within areas of legal expertise with a high degree of independence, quality, competence, responsiveness, planning, sound judgment, and minimal need for supervision. Build and maintain positive relationships and collaborate effectively with internal business partners. Learn business, industry, competitive environment and future growth objectives.

Qualifications: JD Degree with 5-8 years experience in private practice and/or in-house attorney, with a focus on the responsibilities outlined above. Member of Texas State Bar in good standing. Demonstrated sophisticated litigation experience. Ability to isolate complex legal issues and provide prompt, concise, and business-focused legal advice, while balancing risks and benefits to the company. Ability to work independently, manage multiple time-sensitive projects, and set priorities with excellent follow-up skills and organization. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders. Confidence to escalate issues appropriately to supervisors. Solid technical aptitude; advanced skills in the use of technology, including litigation management tools as well as Microsoft products.
