VP, Associate General Counsel & Corporate Compliance Officer (Corporate Legal) The candidate leads the resolution of complex legal issues affecting strategic initiatives within the business, collaborating with functional teams as appropriate. Instrumental in the development and execution of department goals and objectives in support of company strategy. Acts as an escalation point and decision-maker on behalf of Legal for complex legal issues as a leader within the department. Escalates to the Chief Legal Officer as appropriate. Oversees and/or manages routine and complex general corporate legal matters including litigation, employment, entity management, corporate insurance, real estate/leases, M&A, due diligence, and integration activities. Designs, implements and manages an effective, risk-based legal compliance program. Develops and reviews company policies; develops and delivers training. Develops and manages compliance-related diligence for third parties in support of with vendor qualification and management. Conducts compliance-related investigations and manages cases. Advises management on Elligo's compliance trends and proposes a direction for the company. Develops Board level reports. Creates and manages effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations. Audits company procedures and practices to identify possible weaknesses or risks. Assesses company operations to determine legal compliance risk.

The candidate should have a Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree and 15 years as a practicing attorney, 5 of which must have been in a senior-level compliance officer role (preferably in a global organization). An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the experience stated above. Bar Admission in at least one US jurisdiction and in good standing. Exemplary professional ethics and integrity. Solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations, including FCPA, UK Bribery Act, data privacy laws (HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR), False Claims Act, Anti-kickback Statute, antitrust/competition laws, etc. Demonstrated ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams to implement strategic objectives. Cultivates networks and works effectively with people across a variety of functions. Is a conceptual thinker, able to visualize and chart a course and motivate others to follow that vision. Expert written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Expert project management, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Expert ability to prioritize and complete assignments in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Expert ability to efficiently determine the root cause of a problem, identify viable risk-balanced solutions, and appropriately implement such solutions. Exhibits grace under pressure. Experience in the pharma/CRO industry preferred.
