Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory responsibilities for the firm's e-commerce business. Provide legal and strategic business advice to support various business units, including merchandising, customer service, quality, logistics, information/data security, marketing, and product. Commercial transaction support for other business units as required. Review SOPs and provide input, as needed, on processes related to operations. Review labeling/packaging for private label products in development. Assist, as needed, in responses to inquiries from government agencies and law enforcement. Administration and resolution of legal issues. Contract management and interpretation matters that arise in existing commercial relationships.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree and admission to New York. Should preferably have 4+ years of relevant e-commerce or business contracts experience - In-house experience. Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing e-commerce and technology deals (e.g., supplier agreements, platform integrations, etc.). Experience coordinating legal counsel across complex and multifaceted legal issues, including data protection and privacy, quality assurance, recalls, and product development (both technology and private brand). Experience working effectively and collaboratively across business units. Experience providing counsel to internet/e-commerce companies with products and services offered to consumers. Experience drafting custom agreements from scratch (i.e., not from existing templates). Experience with contract management. Spanish language proficiency/fluency is a plus.
