Corporate Counsel - Compensation and Benefits RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as primary counsel on benefits and compensation matters and to the company's Benefits Committee, providing advice on benefits plan issues, including plans governed by ERISA and Reg 409A. As assigned, will provide day-to-day support to Human Resources on a broad range of issues relating to offering letters, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, immigration, independent contractor issues, reviewing third-party service contracts supporting HR, and DE&I initiatives. Provide employment law expertise for Corporate Development projects, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring. Manage outside counsel when necessary to complete complex projects and transactions, including issues involving Bermuda law.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of accredited Law School. Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the United States. Should have 3 years of experience dealing with benefits and compensation law issues at a law firm or in-house. (Experience at both a plus.). Strong analytical skills with the ability to serve as a strategic partner to HR and provide practical and actionable advice. Strong communication skills, work ethic, and high level of personal integrity and accountability. Strong ability to investigate, research and comprehend new laws and technology. The ability to manage a variety of projects.
