Principal, Corporate Counsel Sr- IP and Contracts The candidate will provide legal advice and recommendations as a strategic advisor to the business, including sales, product management, marketing, and IT. Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with key clients and vendors. Identify and analyze potential legal and business risks and be able to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and create proactive strategies designed to avoid and minimize exposure to these risks. Remain current on legal and business developments regarding data, software, and IP; and share appropriately with the team and business partners, including providing training as needed. Participate in the identification and harvesting of company-wide IP, and securing appropriate protection for that IP. Create, update, and manage IP tracking and reporting systems for the company. Should have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with admission to at least one State Bar. Should have 5-7 years of experience (including both law firm and in-house experience) relating to commercial contracts, software/data licensing, and IP identification and protection. Ability to work with personnel of all levels, across all business functions, and to proactively evaluate and manage legal and business risks.
