Corporate Counsel (labor & Employment)

Corporate Counsel (Labor & Employment) Duties: Act as an internal subject matter expert on labor and employment law. Provide thoughtful, practical and proactive legal advice to the People team and business leaders on all aspects of labor and employment law. Remain current on important employment legal decisions, statutory changes, and other developments in order to ensure the company responds appropriately. Draft and advise on employee-related policies and procedures. Assist with pre-litigation issues, administrative actions, agency investigations, and employment litigation matters. Counsel the People team and managers on performance management. Provide legal guidance on employment-related investigations. Draft employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants agreements, and other employment-related contracts. Build resources to improve efficiency, process, and best-practice across the organization. Establish rapport and working relationships with business owners in order to build trust and facilitate the proactive use of in-house legal counsel.

Qualifications: Law Degree (J.D.) and active law license in good standing. Should have 3+ years of experience, with 2 years of Labor & Employment experience. Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is preferred. Experience working in healthcare or with healthcare clients is preferred. In-house experience is desired.
