Corporate Counsel - Privacy Duties: Work with internal clients to evaluate products for privacy impacts and help clients negotiate privacy contract terms. Engage and work with outside counsel to provide the best advice to the business on cutting-edge privacy issues. Act as subject matter expert for privacy matters and be a key resource for driving the employee privacy program including putting in place various technical solutions, policies, and training. Support building out privacy framework including assisting with various technical solutions, policies, and training. Advise clients on legal and business issues related to privacy laws like HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, FTC Act, CPRA, and CPA. Aid team members, including executives, on projects by conducting research, analysis, and developing communications in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Lead from every chair in a rock star team of fun, tech-savvy privacy lawyers and professionals. Collaborate with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of professionals across the organization. Deliver easy-to-understand written advice on deadline.
Qualifications: A U.S. law degree and admission to at least one State Bar. At least one privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, Privacy Law Specialist, or CISSP. Should have 3+ years of experience as an attorney with in-house, law firm, or government experience focused on complex corporate privacy advising. Experience working within a privacy framework under GDPR, CCPA, or multiple privacy laws. Experience successfully collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills for multiple audiences. Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to work remotely during the pandemic and in the office after the pandemic.
