Senior Counsel - Corporate Duties: Assist in protecting Company's legal and business interests and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law, with a focus on supporting the Company's legal needs. Provide practical legal advice and business support to the Company on a wide range of matters as needed. Assume an active role in counseling all levels of the Company. Lead legal function in ad hoc and ongoing interdisciplinary teams at the Company. Lead strategic identification of issues, and consult on what is needed to resolve issues (legal research, document drafting, identifying outside counsel). Identify and help mitigate critical areas of liability and litigation. Mentor and supervise, as needed, other Company counsel in the fulfillment of their job responsibilities. Actively participate in and lead, as requested, Legal Department committees and meetings. Handle other legal and business needs as necessary. Qualifications: A solid academic record and a J.D. degree. Admitted to practice (in good standing) in Massachusetts. 6+ years of experience as an in-house counsel or with a law firm. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage the needs of multiple parties at the same time. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to adapt legal requirements in a pragmatic way consistent with the Company's mission, practices, financial needs and growth plans. Creativity and innovation in improving organizational and administrative processes. Top research ability using traditional and Internet sources. Computer skills using Microsoft programs. A self-starter with a strong work ethic, good judgment, and a sense of humor. Ability to meet deadlines and address multiple assignments in an accurate and timely manner. Experience in business and strong analytical and financial skills with a mature business sense will be highly desired.
