Corporate Counsel The candidate will review, analyze and assist in drafting of a wide variety of foreign and domestic commercial agreements with Flex's customers covering manufacturing services, procurement of materials, intellectual property, warranty, indemnity, inventory and financing issues. Collaborate with internal business owners and subject matter experts to ensure that customer agreement are aligned with business objectives. Work across borders, time zones and cultures with a cross-functional group of stakeholders. Understand the financial impact of deals you negotiate and track through their lifecycle. Explain complex topics in clear, easy-to-understand manner with executive-level internal clients. Balance governance and being a solutions provider. Leverage your voice and point of view to influence decision-making. Use software throughout the contracting process, including review, drafting, approvals and storage. Assist in the implementation and enforcement of contracting policies, directives, and strategic initiatives. Develop and provide legal training to internal clients. Assist in any contract interpretations/customer disputes. Suggest process improvements and simplification initiatives.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from a recognized law school and 5-10 years of related work experience in contract negotiation. A passion for analyzing and negotiating tough and high-dollar customer contracts. Well-organized and detail-oriented with an outstanding work ethic; should be able to independently manage and successfully prioritize numerous projects under deadline pressure. The legal team is expected to be available around the clock (if issues arise). Strong interpersonal skills; can interact professionally with the internal legal team, internal business clients and Flex's customers. Comfortable with taking direction from others on the legal team, and also has strong sense of ownership over projects and proactively looks for ways to improve processes. Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and ability to quickly learn and use internal contract management tools (e.g. Apttus).
