Associate Corporate Counsel, Books The candidate will be providing day-to-day and strategic advice to business partners on new and existing initiatives and key negotiations. Advising on, drafting, and negotiating a variety of agreements, with particular focus on publishing and content licensing agreements. Identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Working cross-functionally with legal and non-legal teams. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required. A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and membership in one State Bar. Should have 2+ years of attorney experience, including 2+ years of experience with content licensing or other publishing-related issues. Experience in the book publishing industry as in-house or outside counsel is preferred. Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Efficient organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
