Corporate Counsel - Contracts The candidate will review, interpret, draft, revise and negotiate commercial contracts and a wide variety of non-commercial contracts, including IT, supply chain, operations, indirect procurement, distribution, consulting and nondisclosure agreements. Conduct legal research on various topics including contractual provisions. Provide support to other lawyers in the legal department, as needed. Deal with complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related business areas, keep abreast of relevant legislative changes and provide strategic legal advice to management. Anticipate issues, estimate risks strategically and identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.
The candidate should have a JD from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in at least one State (preferably Texas). Should have 3-7 years of legal practice experience with a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking English fluently. Ability to work effectively with colleagues and outside counsel and gain their respect. Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance. Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information. Demonstration of sound business ethics and consistent adherence to, and promotion of, these ethics in all business and personal transactions. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions. Ability to manage deadlines, organize and prioritize work and work with other functional teams. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills.
