Corporate Legal Counsel, JMP Project The candidate will provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to the project executive and other key members of the team on a variety of legal topics, including legal risk and legal liabilities, that relate to the Terminal 6 and 7 operations and construction project. Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements. Advise on contract status, requests for proposals and other legal documents. Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the organization. Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practices. Communicate with and manage any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors. Design and deliver legal training to the business. Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the organization. Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned. The candidate should have a Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school and be licensed in the state of New York. Should have 5-7 years of commercial, real estate, construction, or related experience at a reputable law firm, and/or Fortune 2000 company. Global experience; experience working with multi-national companies. An experienced business lawyer with the ability to form strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve objectives. Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law. Experience working effectively in a regulated environment. Excellent written and verbal communication. Organization and planning skills are crucial for multi-tasking while prioritizing and executing tasks. Ability to diffuse and manage situations in high-pressure situations. Strong administrative skills, including writing and editing skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Exceptional attention to detail and time management. Strong communication and organizational skills for interactions at all levels of management and the ability to multitask in a busy work environment. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A preference for working with an entrepreneurial, fast-paced team. Demonstrated business acumen coupled with strategic, analytical and creative skills. An ability to manage multiple projects, without compromising quality. A passion for learning.
