Product Counsel - Payroll Tax

Raleigh NC Product Counsel - Payroll Tax The candidate will provide legal support for the company's HCM payroll tax products and services. Take lead in addressing critical issues at the intersection of the law and HCM technology in an exciting, fast-paced company. Provide guidance to teams from product, development, and marketing on legal issues related to payroll tax product features at all stages of the product lifecycle. Tax Manager (Attorney), Tax Controversy - National Federal Tax Services, Global Investment & Innovation Incentives (Gi3) Duties: The candidate will be advising and supporting R&D client engagements, including analyzing contracts for credit eligibility. Examination planning and representation. IRS Appeals representation. Drafting of tax opinions, rebuttals and memoranda. Assisting with drafting and presenting proposals to new and existing clients. Providing leadership, counseling, training, and career guidance for the development and motivation of team members.

Qualifications: The candidate should have J.D. degree and be a licensed attorney. Must have 5+ years of federal tax experience, including federal tax controversy experience. Previous law firm, IRS, Treasury, Big 4, or accounting firm experience preferred. Previous experience managing R&D engagements and/or R&D tax controversy matters is desired. Excellent research skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills are preferred. Solid management experience is desired.
