Corporate Counsel - IP/Product Responsibilities: Practicing law across various groups on all types of matters, but focused on product counseling and intellectual property. Negotiating, writing and executing agreements and contracts on behalf of the company. Offering counsel on a variety of legal issues across all teams. Working alongside all departments within the company. Working with our partners to further business dealings and arrangements. Advising on contract status, legal risks, product issues, and the legal liabilities associated with such matters. Meeting with product teams to advise on current and future products, potential legal issues, and draft terms for customer agreements. Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company. Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements. Providing training to the company on legal topics. Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited law school. 5+ years of experience gained in large law firm and/or in-house at a company, preferable experience in product and technology counseling. In-house experience highly preferred. Interest in being a generalist and taking on responsibilities outside of your normal role. Strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and with counterparties. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Experience with marketing, customer relations, and product advising highly regarded. Experience with data policy and potential risks is also highly regarded. Ability to manage outside counsel relationships for various projects.
