Corporate Counsel The candidate will support our commercial team to structure, draft and negotiate contracts. Conduct research and provide legal guidance on complex business issues including privacy matters, IP and nationwide medical practices. Partner with external legal partners to support key business issues while managing cost. Work effectively with senior management as a trusted legal advisor. Support future financing efforts and M&A activities. Build processes to improve our efficiency and identify legal risks. Create materials and programs to train employees on legal topics.
The candidate must have J.D from an ABA accredited law school. Should have current California bar membership or in-house counsel certification. Should have 3+ years of experience working in a nationally recognized law firm; experience working in-house in the lifescience, or technology sectors a plus. Must have experience structuring, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, agreements, licenses, and other legal agreements. Should have demonstrated experience with driving initiatives at the organization-level. Must have ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners. Should have superior written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with health care privacy, including HIPAA and relevant state privacy laws preferred.
