Corporate Real Estate Attorney Duties: Drafting, negotiating and handling documents and transactions pertaining to the Banks leasing activities, both as a landlord of commercial properties owned or leased by the Bank for its general office and administrative requirements, and as a tenant in connection with its retail branch network (retail and office leases and amendments, easements, license agreements, work letter agreements, letters of credit, reciprocal access agreements, SNDAs, estoppels, etc.). Drafting, negotiating and handling documents and transaction related to asset sales and dispositions of Bank-owned properties (purchase and sale agreements, conveyance deeds and certificates, NDAs, environmental diligence documents, etc.). Leading pre-litigation disputes pertaining to CRE portfolio (including familiarity with demand letters and general understanding of unlawful detainer process and litigation timelines). Assisting CRE corporate strategy and compliance with strategic initiatives, planning, compliance and interpreting policies. Participating in other Bank-wide special projects related to, among other things, increasing Bank-wide efficiency, internal audits, legal department matters and community-wide initiatives. Working with a paralegal and running outside counsel on non-routine transactions.

Qualifications: Must be a member of the California State Bar. 6+ years of relevant real estate transactional experience, with heavy emphasis on leasing, acquisition/disposition and real estate dispute resolution experience. Knowledge and experience in the areas of real estate environmental risk issues, insurance issues, and OREO matters are a plus. Must have strong risk analysis skills and judgment, exceptional verbal and written communication and social skills, and a reputation for timely transaction execution. Will be a self-starter and be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to influence, advise executives, build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues, deal constructively with conflict, issue advice and guidance with confidence and tact. Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment involving multiple simultaneous issues and transactions.
