Corporate Counsel / Senior Corporate Counsel Duties: Negotiating and drafting of licensing, clinical, commercial and supply agreements. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and have a good understanding of the business and its strategies and objectives. Proactively counsel business clients on important legal, enforcement and other industry developments. Serve as liaison with outside counsel on more complex legal matters. Collaborate with and interface with other lawyers in the Legal Department to maintain consistency in legal advice. Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams as the primary legal representative. Assisting with ongoing improvement of standard form contracts and training on same. Prepare and deliver training materials to variety of internal client audiences. Research, assess, and concisely advise internal clients on wide variety of legal issues as they arise.

Qualifications: JD Degree from a well-respected, accredited law school. Current bar admission in one state is required (California preferred or eligible to register for California in-house program). 5+ years legal practice experience with 2 years representing life sciences clients. 3+ years ? experience at a top law firm and a minimum of 2 years experience in-house at a biotech/pharmaceutical company. Experience with complex commercial transactions (i.e., intellectual property licences, etc.), antitrust law, FDA law, and a working familiarity with patent law as applied in a pharmaceutical business context. Demonstrated extensive experience as a generalist  supporting biotech/pharmaceutical clients. General familiarity with scientific patent application filings. Must be experienced in the legal and regulatory framework in which the business must operate and be adept at devising strategies to assure compliance with those laws and regulations. The ability to think proactively and act quickly in building consensus. Experience with healthcare compliance is a plus; willingness to learn and assume responsibilities regarding corporate compliance program will be a requirement. Responsiveness to emails and internal requests; adherence to deadlines; excellent time-management skills. Must be able to thrive in a collaborative, teamwork environment. Flexibility and ability to re-prioritize workload is essential. Able to use time effectively and efficiently. Good level of multi-tasking ability; ability to learn quickly and in a fast paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Independence, resourcefulness and ability to identify creative solutions to novel issues. Good ability to assess own limits and seek advice when appropriate. Good knowledge in a range of legal areas of relevance to the company's operations. Good level of knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and relevant legal issues. Good interpersonal skills. Seeks to partner with business clients to achieve strategic business objectives taking into account legal, business and reputational risks. Strategic agility, strong critical, and logical thinking. Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills. Able to effectively present ideas, counsel and information to others.
