Corporate Counsel, Litigation and Compliance Responsibilities: Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues (including laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and legal articles); and provide clear recommendations to internal associates. Draft discovery plans, client letters, opinion letters, demand letters, settlement proposals, petitions, declarations, motions, and settlement and trial briefs. Conduct and defend depositions (of parties, third-party witnesses, and experts). Make court appearances. Propound and respond to form and special interrogatories, requests for documents, and requests for admission. Draft and review a variety of agreements, including licenses, NDA s, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and special event agreements. Audit contracts and local regulations; and ensure notice and disclosure requirements are met. Research, review and ensure standards, processes, and procedures followed by various departments are consistent with state, federal, and local regulations. Manage and enforce document organization and retention policy and litigation holds.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required. Current license to practice law and ability to remain in good standing with the California State Bar Association. Must have 4 years of experience at a law firm or as an in-house counsel. Overall broad legal knowledge of corporate laws, litigation, and labor law; and proven general counseling experience in a business environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Contract Management Software (i.e. DocuSign, Smartwaiver, etc.). Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment.
