Corporate Counsel, Production Duties: Handle all legal aspects of the production of original scripted and non-scripted television series and feature-length motion pictures, including helping to develop forms and policies, and structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of complicated agreements such as performer, writer, producer, and directors agreements, documentary and reality participant and access agreements, below-the-line crew agreements, and other production-related agreements. Be responsible for all legal matters during the course of production, including evaluating rights issues, structuring tax incentives, reviewing content for copyright, trademark, and defamation risks as well as standards and practices compliance, advising on guild issues, reviewing marketing and publicity materials, and overseeing outside production counsel. Analyze and interpret contracts and provide thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, labor and employment, immigration, public policy, safety, and tax.

Basic Qualifications: Juris Doctor and Membership in good standing in at least one State Bar. 5+ years of experience working in the entertainment industry as a lawyer in connection with the development and production of filmed entertainment content. Work with a studio, production company, or an entertainment and media law firm, with extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts, counseling on legal compliance issues, and content review. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to analyze and assess business processes, spot issues and propose/implement solutions. Capacity to function autonomously yet communicate laterally and upwardly with ease. Strong legal and business judgment in ambiguous situations. Excellent organizational skills. Facility to manage multiple projects at once, follow-through, and meet deadlines. Effective written and oral communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate complex issues and projects with varied levels of management and employees.
