Corporate Counsel The candidate will draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements with agencies, advertisers, and third parties in support of digital advertising sales and revenue. Draft and negotiate agreements for B2B and B2C marketing initiatives, including production and license agreements. Work closely with the marketing and creative services teams to review ad copy, create processes, and establish best practices. Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales and revenue operations, finance, sales marketing, brand marketing, and pricing and yield management) to drive process improvements and establish best practices. Train internal stakeholders on legal best practices and industry updates. Support a wide range of transactional and operational needs throughout the legal department.
The candidate should have 3+ years of practicing law; relevant work experience may be considered outside of legal practice. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with digital technology, advertising, marketing, and commercial law matters. Demonstrated experience advising internal stakeholders on marketing or advertising issues and strong knowledge of the laws, regulations, and industry standards in this area, including IAB/AAAA Ad Unit Guidelines, FTC Guidelines, data collection and use best practices, and other digital advertising industry standards. Desire and ability to work on a wide variety of matters, including that outside of subject-matter expertise. Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal and external clients; Ability to work independently and in a team environment and a willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects. Ability to make decisions and pivot quickly and fluidly, think practically and be solutions-oriented; Strong analytical capabilities and judgment. Good public speaking and presentation skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Microsoft Office, document comparison applications, document management systems and communication and collaboration applications. Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Collaboration Tools: Google Suite, Slack. Experience at technology companies is preferred.
