VP, Corporate Counsel - Servicing Responsibilities: Supports the company's Compliance Management System and providing the servicing division with legal guidance to applicable state and federal laws, agency and investor requirements. Conducts legal research, analysis, prepares written documentation and advises on state and federal laws appliable to mortgage servicing. Manages the Servicing Compliance Manual, including preparing and updating federal compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements. Provides legal guidance and supports the company's compliance function, including advising on mortgage compliance reviews and testing, assessments of targeted compliance issues or investigations. Collaborates with the Servicing Compliance Governance team. Provides legal guidance, analysis and support for internal and external reviews of the servicing division. Collaborates with the Servicing Oversight team. Provides legal guidance, collaboration, and support to the servicing compliance monitoring program; oversees implementation process for key compliance strategies and compliance initiatives to changes in the law and action plans. Supports the enterprise Regulatory Complaints and servicing division's Escalated Complaints teams in the resolution of consumer complaints regarding mortgage servicing, including reviewing loan files, coordinating research, and preparing responses. Supports the Change Management and Issues Management teams to identify compliance issues for review and possible remediation. Manages the servicing division's compliance training program, including updates and annual reviews. Participates and collaborates in the development and management of compliance educational and training programs for the servicing division and its contractors. Coordinates activities with the legal team, risk team and operations leadership to ensure company has a comprehensive approach to managing mortgage servicing compliance risk. Interfaces with government agency officials in the representation and development of various strategic compliance programs, policies, services, and initiatives. Oversees the work of outside counsel for various engagements on behalf of the company.

Qualifications: A graduate of an accredited law school admitted to practice law within the state in which they work and is in good standing is required. Should have 10 years of mortgage servicing compliance experience, ideally in an in-house legal department. Experience with Dodd/Frank, RESPA, TILA, Regulations X and Z, FCRA, Fair Lending, and other federal and state regulatory requirements. Experience in the mortgage servicing industry preferred. Knowledge of public policies, legislation, guidelines, and standards pertaining to the mortgage industry. Knowledge of concepts, practices, principles, and procedures of strategic business planning. Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, summarize and effectively present data. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position. Advanced knowledge and understanding of mortgage servicing compliance. Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, FHA, and VA program requirements. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Outstanding analytical, communications and writing skills. Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments. Ability to educate and collaborate with executive management, servicing leadership and operations team members in regards to regulatory and compliance requirements to achieve division objectives.
