Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate will be advising as lead counsel on SaaS transactional matters (e.g., SaaS contracts, partnering agreements, vendor/supplier agreements, etc.). Will be working with GC to drive compliance objectives (related to data privacy, intellectual property, employment matters, etc.), with the ability to manage/drive related projects to overcome obstacles and produce results in a timely fashion. Conducting and reporting on legal research in support of assigned projects/matters and in support of strategic legal initiatives, and as may otherwise be assigned by the General Counsel. Serve as project manager for certain legal department initiatives, including forming and maintaining necessary cross-departmental relationships, tracking objectives, evaluating and creating project plans, and reporting to General Counsel regarding the status and resource needs. Foster and maintain a work environment that promotes collaboration, teamwork, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction that encompasses Firms core values. Perform other duties as required.
The candidate should have BA/BS and Juris Doctorate (JD) from a law school accredited by the ABA. Must have admission to a state bar and currently in good standing. Must have 3 years of experience practicing law in a technology field, including licensing and/or SaaS subscription agreements. Experience implementing and/or drafting data privacy/security processes is required. Law firm experience preferred, in addition to in-house experience. Must be able to dive deep into the weeds on a daily basis (AND get the details right, consistently), while being able to communicate clear summaries at a high level to the General Counsel and other management. Must be able to manage competing priorities and make practical business-minded decisions in addressing such priorities. Must be results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines. Must have impeccable attention to detail in all drafting. Must be highly skilled in the use of Google and Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet products. Must be willing, ready, and able to influence, negotiate, and hold teams accountable to execute, in a manner that inspires action, rather than resistance. Ability to work independently and in ambiguous situations is required.
