Senior Manager - International Tax
The candidate will liaise with various business teams within the company with an aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model in order to develop comprehensive tax solutions in support of the business, develop tax requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive the implementation of the tax requirements. Will primarily support the a variety of business team on global indirect taxes and the ideal candidate will have experience evaluating issues related to retail and services business. Work closely with other members of the global tax department to communicate current and future business plans, obtain cross functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross functional tax solutions. Provide indirect tax subject matter expertise to various business and IT organizations including business development, marketing, legal, customer service, and various product groups. Review new business initiatives and scope any effect on existing transaction tax calculation processes and systems. Provide end-to-end tax requirements (tax structuring, tax treatment of all aspects from invoicing to implementation) for projects and business initiatives. Actively participate in projects throughout their lifecycle - from planning through delivery. Product taxability research across a wide range of categories. Be involved in general VAT issues such as research related to tax calculation and compliance, and other advanced e-commerce topics. Analyze US international tax laws and apply them to various business proposals. Analyze foreign direct and indirect tax laws and apply them to various business proposals. Collaborate with business units to identify and research international tax planning opportunities. Evaluate the tax effect and implications of international business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals to advise management on the tax implications. Prepare FIN 48 memos and related analysis. Develop and maintain knowledge of federal and international tax laws and current developments. Monitor industry positions relevant to Amazon’s international business operations. Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and transfer pricing.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in Tax or Law highly preferred. Must have 8+ years of related tax experience in a large multinational or professional services firm.
