Senior Corporate Counsel, Privacy

Bellevue WA Senior Corporate Counsel, Privacy Duties: Work with important partners and direct internal privacy programs. Manage the legal privacy team (comprised of three other members). Maintain expertise in areas of privacy and data protection laws (including GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and CCPA), regulatory guidance, and enforcement actions. Be an escalation point for negotiation, drafting, and review of privacy and data processing contract terms in customer and vendor contracts. Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment - Americas Lead Responsibilities: Serve as the lead employment lawyer for Company's Americas region (United States, Canada, and Latin America); Lead and/or participate in special projects with cross-functional teams, including those focused on improving and enhancing employment-related policies, practices, and processes to execute priorities and ensure compliance; Help provide practical and business-oriented legal advice to the global human resources team and the business regarding all aspects of the employer/employee relationship including, hiring, performance management, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, restrictive covenants, leaves and accommodations, compensation and benefits, reductions-in-force, contractor issues, and diversity and inclusion; Provide employment law support in connection with mergers & acquisitions including due diligence and post-close integration; Provide support with regard to interpretation and enforcement of sales commission plans; Respond to attorney demand letters and agency matters, including government-initiated inquiries and audits; Manage and partner with outside counsel in employment litigation matters; negotiate separation agreements; Collaborate with the Human Resources Team to generate and implement trainings on HR and employment law topics; and Participate in global projects and initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications: Should have a JD from an accredited U.S. law school and are a member in good standing of a U.S. State bar (preference for California); 12+ years specializing in U.S. employment law, with in-house experience at a multinational corporation strongly preferred; Strong knowledge of California Employment Law is required; Should have a demonstrated and proven ability to work well with Human Resources and business leaders, leveraging strong analytical and conceptual skills to be effective at building a consensus among leaders; enjoy collaborating with colleagues to achieve a shared goal; are a creative and strategic thinker who possesses excellent business sense and judgment; are committed to driving diversity and inclusion through the advice you provide; are a practical and enthusiastic problem-solver who is confident, mature, flexible, and calm under fire and can work independently in a dynamic, fast-changing environment; able to connect the dots to provide advice that considers the context and unintended consequences as well as the specific legal issue at hand; a passion for employment law and keep up to date on developments; People management experience is preferred. Some international employment law experience. Some immigration and mobility experience.

Corporate Counsel, Real Estate The candidate will partner with AWS business team to acquire, develop and launch new data centers globally. Will play an active role in the site selection process, reviewing and counseling clients on due diligence and feasibility. Will have responsibility for structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements, managing outside counsel, and counseling internal business clients on: Lease agreements (both existing facilities and build-to-suits), real property purchase and sale agreements and land use and zoning issues and Construction agreements, will involve in broad range of property issues involving the management of our existing portfolio. Will work directly with the various business teams, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, and managing outside counsel. Will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for and implementing process improvements, will interact with our Public Policy, Economic Development and Tax teams. Some travel will be required. Must have 5 years of post-qualification legal experience (with at least 3 years at a law firm) as a real estate attorney. Should be Licensed to practice and in good standing. Should have strong written and oral communication skills. Should have In-house experience in a technology or Internet company.
