Seattle WA Corporate Counsel, Environmental Compliance The candidate will be part of a team responsible for counseling firm's data center business on a broad range of environmental regulatory and compliance matters, focusing primarily on the Americas. Will work directly with firm's Web Services world-wide environmental and health & safety teams and report to AWS senior environmental compliance counsel. Role also provides day-to-day business and real estate law counseling; identifies opportunities for and implements process improvements; administers and resolves legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; and handles pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. Must have 4+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as a real estate attorney. Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required. In-house experience in a technology or Internet company or real estate company is a plus. Experience with procurement contracts is required. Experience with incentive agreements is required.

Associate Corporate Counsel The Candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance, developing company policies, and drafting contracts. Additionally, the Associate Corporate Counsel will create and implement internal legal tools, guidelines, and training. Providing legal counsel on community content policies, regulatory matters, commercial deals, and pre-litigation disputes and inquiries. Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

The candidate should have strong academic credentials including a J.D. degree from a top law school and membership in one state bar with 2+ years of legal experience as a commercial, regulatory, or transactional legal counsel, preferably with some portion of that experience in technology and commercial transactions. 2+ years of experience in a top national or international law firm is required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to demonstrate great judgment even in ambiguous situations. Previous experience reviewing and advising on public-facing marketing or community initiatives. Familiarity with online communities, advertising technologies, and platforms for social media. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines. Experience with process control and improvement mechanisms, including standardization and simplification efforts. Strong written and oral communication skills.
