Senior Associate - Federal Tax Services
The candidate will oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries. Will conduct research and analysis of a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for Federal and individual clients. Supervise assignments of professional accountants serving as Associates. Apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations. Interface with client personnel to obtain information and deliver a high quality project on time and on budget. Clearly communicate work plan and project objectives to project team. Train staff on tax rules, as well as TPDG tools and methodologies. Effectively manage a team of people to deliver a technically and quantitatively correct, well documented work product.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business related field. An advanced degree like MST, MAcc, J.D. or LL.M. preferred. CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification (or in the process of pursuing) required. Must have 2+ years of experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns. Should have knowledge of managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence and billing, as well as excellent technology, research and writing skills. RIA, GoSystems Tax, FASB 109 and provision experience needed. Prior Big Four experience a plus. Willingness to travel is required.
