Regulatory and Compliance Counsel The candidate will be providing advice to the firm business by identifying regulatory threats and opportunities in new and existing markets. Monitoring and understanding the regulatory landscape across a wide geographic area and anticipating risks and opportunities. Managing and driving execution of Legal initiatives designed to support business priorities. Working collaboratively and cross functionally with relevant internal stakeholders and with outside counsel to execute Legal deliverables. Serving as the primary point of contact to the Government Relations team (U.S. only). Building and managing relationships with key leaders across the Legal team and the company. Must have Juris Doctorate degree and a member in good standing with a State Bar. Should have 7-10 years relevant work experience, including government and/or in-house legal and regulatory work. Knowledge and experience working on a wide range of regulation impacting the e-commerce sector is required. Excellent oral communication including in-person and remote (e.g., phone, video conference) discussions is needed.

Counsel, Insurance and Litigation The candidate will collaborate closely with fellow Legal Team members to develop and implement litigation strategy with an eye toward impact on s broader business objectives. Will proactively approach all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, and trial and appellate strategies. Analyze pre-litigation and litigation matters to effectively participate in decisions related to resolution strategy and demonstrate an ability to understand interpret, and apply current law and regulations to s current and prospective products and services. Efficient management of outside counsel, including tactical guidance, staffing, case management, budgeting, and alignment with s broader legal strategy. Provide guidance to management on litigation and pre-litigation matters. Provide sound legal advice cross-functionally to other teams such as Claims and Risk Solutions. Maintain effective communication with insurance carriers and other third parties. The candidate should have 4+ years practicing law at a leading law firm or in-house. Should have JD degree from a top-tier law school. Member of the California Bar is essential. Should have strong preference is given to candidates with prior in-house experience and experience advising technology clients as outside counsel and excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. An understanding of the transportation and ridesharing industries, as well as the sharing economy in general is essential.
