Real Estate Transactions Contracts Attorney

Associate General Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities: Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on business. Assist product lawyers in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on product features. Support members of the legal, business, and policy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments. Develop regulatory strategy with global privacy regulators in connection with new product features and initiatives and maintain ongoing privacy-by-design processes. Help draft and oversee the development and management of (and its affiliates') terms and data policies across the full range of different products. Help to develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings. Manage internal privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure we meet obligations under those programs. Assist product lawyers in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on product features.

Qualifications: JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state Bar. 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies. Experience with litigation, regulatory, or product counseling. Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines. Experience using business judgment and with client counseling. Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment. Preferred: Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media and Internet companies.

Update legal and compliance department colleagues on developments regarding significant or emerging legal and compliance risks.

Requirements: A JD Degree or equivalent from an accredited law school is required. 10 years of work experience, including having working in an in-house compliance team at a publicly traded company. The ability to learn on the job and manage constantly changing priorities. Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills required. High level of professionalism with strong judgment and commitment to ethical issues. Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills and the proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining high quality and performance under pressure.
