The candidate will provide general legal counsel to the consumer banking businesses, as well as specific advice on products, services and certain legal actions. Will review legal contracts and documents. Directly, or through staff, conduct legal research. May represent the bank in legal actions. The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Must have 10+ years of experience in consumer and small business banking, primarily in lending products, including credit cards as well as deposits and electronic banking. The candidate provides general legal counsel on matters supporting the Bank's global product solutions activities, as well as specific advice on products, services and certain legal actions. Supports various GTS products and services, including the domestic and global corporate procurement and travel card programs. Will provide support for certain ACH-related treasury services as well as provide support for GTS services provided in the public sector. The candidate must have 7-10 years of experience, with some internal counsel experience and preferably have a solid understanding of laws and rules for corporate card programs in the US (including Fair Credit Reporting Act, card association rules, UCC Article 4A and NACHA Rules) as well as the ability to work closely with colleagues and/or outside counsel in other countries with respect to applicable laws and rules in the relevant jurisdictions. The candidate will be a senior member of the North American Hedge Fund Consulting function. The candidate will draw on experience in accounting and taxation to provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Will identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Primary responsibilities include: overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries; research and analysis of a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. May also undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for our federal and individual clients. Supervise assignments by the professional accountants serving as consultants.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field. CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification preferred. The candidate will provide counsel to ensure the protection of the company's patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other proprietary rights. Will prepare patent, trademark, and copyright applications, which are generally approved by the department head. Prepare legal opinions and analysis of patents, reviewing and drafting significant corporate documents associated with the intellectual property of the company. Participate in the litigation process in cases involving intellectual property matters. Evaluate the validity of competitors' patents and potential company product infringement upon valid patents of competitors. Responsible for pre-patent filing review, providing legal advice to the company concerning the patent viability of its inventions and the advisability of filing patent applications covering the company's inventions. Study allowed claims from the patent maintenance process and makes recommendation to Senior Management. Provide other general legal advice and represent the company in matters relating to industrial property law. Promote patent activities by providing inventors with IP trend updates and summaries when appropriate.

The candidate should preferably have prior Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Physics. A Baster's degree is preferred. Should be a mid-level attorney and be patent agent qualified. Should have technical knowledge necessary to represent and/or defend company's positions. Related experience in optical or Software medical imaging preferred.
